– Maintain the Right Pressure: It is essential that the pressure is right to keep your boiler running properly. To check the pressure, turn it on and wait a few minutes to see where it ends up on the gauge. It should be between 1.2 and 1.5 bars. If it isn’t, “purge” some of the radiators to bring down the pressure.
– Check Connections: You need to also check the connections to make sure there is a strong electrical connection as well as gas and water.
– Bleed Radiators: Air can build up in the radiators that are found in your boiler. To get rid of this air, you need to purge them and release that air. When you twist the purge valve, you will hear air start to hiss as it is released. After the air is out and you start to see water drip out, you can close them up again.
– Watch for Gas Smells: If you ever smell gas, you need to act quickly to keep your home safe. You should immediately turn off the heat and open the windows in your home to get rid of any gas that has leaked into the house. You will need to call professionals right away to fix it.
