Standard Furnace Components

1) Heat Exchanger: After it is absorbed into the walls is the heat, the cooled combustion gasses is vented in the pipe where it the combustion gasses then enters the heat exchanger.
2) Burners: Before the heat passes to the heat exchanger, to produce a controllable, consistent flame, the fuel is sent to the burners that are ignited by the hot surface ignitor.
3) Air Filter: As the air entering the blower motor, passes through the filter, the debris, dust, and particles are contained in the air filters.
4) Blower Motor: The air is pushed past the heat exchanger into the supply plenum, air distributed throughout your home through the air blower motor.
5) Return Ducts: Through the use of the furnace, the cool air from home is retrieved by the return ducts as air is returned to be reheated.
6) Flue: The component that channels out the unwanted exhaust that contains the carbon monoxide outside is the flue.
7) Hot Surface Ignitor: After the electrical current is sent to it, once the thermostat is signaled to switch on, it can light the burner.
8) Thermostat: It is designed to manage the temperature inside your house, the ignitor is signaled to turn on by thermostat.
9) Supply Plenum: Known as the supply plenum, a duct is attached to the furnace, and it allows the heated air to be distributed across your home.
Why is Furnace Maintenance Important?
The longevity, performance, and overall health of the furnace is preserved through the efforts of owners and professional maintenance, no matter how efficient the furnace initially is.
1) at least once a month, the furnace flame’s color should be inspected on a routine basis. If the flame is a different color, likely orange, red, or green, it is an indication of a serious issue, and a healthy furnace flame will be blue with perhaps a small yellow.
